Dr Michael Bassett-Cross trained at University College Hospital, London and qualified with a degree in Dental Surgery (BDS) and a Licentiate in Dental Surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons (LDS RCS) in 1991.


Michael entered general practice in 1992 and prior to moving to Malmesbury, Michael had worked in Northamptonshire and Bristol.


Michael has also held the positions of Clinical Assistant in Oral Surgery at Frenchay Hospital and Clinical Assistant in Orthodontics at the Great Western Hospital in Swindon.

Gerry Davies trained at Manchester University, qualifying with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) in 1987 and a Master of Science in Oral Surgery in 1995.


Gerry has also held the position of Clinical Assistant in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery at Central Manchester University Hospital and entered general practice in 1988.


In addition, Gerry is a Licentiate in Homeopathy (London) 2000




Sarah Whitley, qualified as a hygienist in 2007 prior to which she had gained considerable experience in dental nursing. She consistently provides an outstanding level of care and has been pivitol in improving the dental health of many of our patients. Sarah is always keen and very motivated for her patients. She also holds a teaching position at Bristol Dental Hospital

Our nurses, Chrissie and Marie, are highly experienced caring members of our team. Both hold qualifications in radiography and have completed courses in implantology in addition to their nursing qualifications. They control the processing and sterilisation of our non-disposable equipment and are responsible for quality-control, compliance issues, and auditing of clinical procedures. Additionally, they provide much support with the day to day operation and management of the practice.

Your first point of contact with the practice is reception run by Anne Phillips and Wendy Harris. Anne and Wendy strive to make the practice run as smoothly as possible, however, they also make the difference between a good practice and a great practice experience. They aim to provide a relaxing and friendly environment in addition to an efficient reception. Behind the scenes they also have an extended role and are both involved in running our management systems and quality assurance programmes

Sue Duncan, joined our practice in 2008 bringing with her a wealth of experience. She excels in providing high quality treatment with a gentle and caring manner which is hugely appreciated by her patients. She is a highly capable and treasured member of the team.
